We were able to spend three weeks on the island of Saronde in August and, in short, it was an incredibly wonderful time. I can agree with all the previous reviews.
I'll go into a little more detail about the diving:
Briefly about us - we did our OWD in the Maldives 2 years ago, haven't been diving since and so traveled to Indonesia with just 5 dives. We are therefore beginners, so please bear that in mind when giving our opinion. Muck diving was completely new to us, as was the focus on macro creatures. Thanks to the extremely attentive, sharp eagle eyes of the guides, we were able to discover and photograph a large number of different animals during our many dives. It should also be mentioned here that every evening the time is taken for an intensive debriefing with identification of what we have seen - we found that particularly great! Most of the dive sites we have visited so far are very beautiful, and there will certainly be more in the future. Just think - it's the only resort far and wide :-)
The service is absolutely first class, all the equipment is brought to the boat, then brought back to the villa to the small dive center and cleaned.
Apart from the computer and mask, we don't have any of our own, so we rented almost everything on site. There was nothing to complain about with the rental equipment.
The dive times here are set very flexibly according to the wishes of the guests the evening before. We usually did two dives in the morning, between breakfast and lunch on the island.
Towels are always available on the boat. Coffee, tea, water, fruit and pancakes are provided at all times.
To summarize, if you love macro, are looking for uniquely good service, are perhaps a beginner in diving and are looking for a family resort far away from mass tourism, I can only warmly recommend Saronde.
We will definitely be back!
