The reception was modest. The entire staff was forced to welcome us and that's how we were received - listlessly.
The resort manager, who we saw briefly a maximum of 3 times during our 11-day stay, referred us directly to her new employee. A young girl who read the schedule from her cell phone in very poor English. We now only knew when the individual meals were served. Our luggage was put in the bungalow and that was probably the end of the job from the employee's point of view. We were not shown the bungalow, the dive center or the restaurant. There was no talk about dive times or the procedures at the resort. The bungalow is very spacious and very nicely furnished, the air conditioning is unfortunately much too small for the large room and therefore does not work. The bathroom is getting on in years and there is mold in many places. The roof leaks and there are lots of puddles on the floor when it rains. The toilet was the biggest challenge. A separate room with just the toilet with no toilet brush and no water hose or anything like that. There is seating furniture and another bed on the terrace. However, the area could not be used due to the endless sand flies. This seems to be a big problem, as the entire restaurant area has already been covered with a huge concrete slab because of this. In this context, it should be noted that the resort does not correspond to the pictures in brochures or on websites. There is no beach, it has already been taken over by the water. To remedy this, an endlessly long concrete wall has been erected on the shore. However, when there are waves, the water still laps up to the terrace. As there are now no sun loungers, uncomfortable loungers have been set up on the jetty as a solution. Unfortunately, these are besieged by the staff, who spend their free time there and everyone talks loudly on their cell phones, listens loudly to music, or loudly presents films on the Internet via cell phone. Fact: not a trace of peace and quiet. It is also impossible to stay there when it rains, as the roof is badly damaged. The rest area at the restaurant does not correspond in any way to the brochure material / Internet. The meals are served carelessly and the entire staff is anxious to get everything done as quickly as possible so that you have free time again. Sometimes the soup, the main menu and the dessert were served together to make things go even faster. One big exception was the young gentleman behind the bar. He was always friendly and attentive. We didn't do any dives in the morning on two days. However, this did not stop the cleaning staff from throwing us out of the bungalow at 8.00 am. We tried to explain that we weren't diving that day and would like to sleep in. Without any success! An absolute no-go for us. On the day of our departure, we were supposed to have breakfast at 6.00 am, as the boat left at 6.30 am. We were the only guests in the restaurant that morning. 5 employees then managed to ensure that we received breakfast at 6.34 am, which we were then unable to eat as the boat was leaving.
Conclusion: The management is a disaster, the entire resort is in urgent need of refurbishment and the staff work to rule. You constantly feel under pressure because everything has to be done quickly. In view of the not inconsiderable price we paid, we cannot recommend the resort.
