We had a great stay at Bahia Apartments & Diving. Very friendly people and a perfect place to unwind, enjoy the beach and experience the underwater world. The apartment we were in needs an overhaul, but it was adequate. In the end, we didn't go to the Antilles to sit inside.

This was my first diving trip after getting my PADI certification. So although I am officially a certified diver, I had little experience. So I went to the dive store to ask for a tour of the house reef. After that first tour with instructor Riana, I decided that this was the best and safest way to gain more experience and become a better and more proficient diver. She is a very enthusiastic, professional and energetic instructor and I was amazed at how much I had learned after five dives with her. The house reef is easily accessible from the lagoon and is beautiful with beautiful coral, turtles, stingrays and moray eels. In addition, she took me to the reef at Kalki Beach, also a great place.

The dive center is perfectly equipped and they have plenty of space where guests can dry and store their dive gear. Ideal! They are located close to the lagoon beach, so you walk right from the dive center onto the beach and into the sea.

We will definitely come back!

The room is basic, but adequate. The mattresses were very good, which is nice if you have back problems. For the coffee machine you could only get cups in the restaurant and not in stores. That makes it more expensive.
The food in the restaurant was good in terms of quality, but very few vegetables and limited vegetarian (certainly not vegan)
Staff was very helpful. Upon arrival, the restaurant was already closed at 20:00 and stores are not nearby. So that was a downside.
The dive base and staff was fine and also very helpful. However, there was no description of the dive sites other than our own. It is wise to bring a compass at some of the other sites though, as there is only a small entrance to the bay.
The dive sites were a bit disappointing, but then again maybe we have seen too much at other sites. We are spoiled divers and compare with Asia (Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia), Egypt and Bonaire among others. The state of the coral was not so good and there was much less life than for example on Bonaire.

If you go purely for diving, we do not recommend Curacao, then you better go to Bonaire. If you also go to do things above water, then Curacao is a pleasant island.
