Beforehand, you had to fill out a multi-page questionnaire online, which also asked whether you wanted to be picked up from the airport or the hotel. I opted for the airport. However, it was not mentioned at all that I would only be picked up 4 hours after arrival.
An earlier embarkation requested by me was also always categorically rejected.
The content of the completed questionnaire was not known on board.
There is another way!
The cabins on the Bahamas Master are very small. This applies at least to the standard cabins and there are also no storage facilities, although there would be enough space to install shelves. You can't even put your glasses down for the night!
If you take a shower in the wet room (bathroom), some of the water runs under the door into the cabin.
Then the beds are very short. With my 187 cm I bumped into the top and bottom at the same time. Ultimately, this meant that I could never lie down stretched out and sleeping properly was out of the question. Another cabin that was still free probably had a big enough bed, but I had to pay extra for it. However, as it is the responsibility of the boat operator to offer sufficiently large beds, I refused to pay the extra charge. The crew thought it was okay that an empty cabin would not be used.
The food was always good and sufficient, but you were not allowed to move away from your plate to get something else, otherwise it was cleared away and there were no more plates.
The guides were very competent, attentive and paid close attention to safety. However, this only applies to the shark diving sites. No consideration was given to the significantly increased air consumption that photographers have when diving on the reefs.
On all the reef dives, I wondered why only one of the four guides was doing anything and the others were bored on board!
Due to the increased air consumption I had to surface earlier and because of the bad weather I couldn't take off my fins on the boat. The ladder could normally also be used with fins. However, the handrail welded to it always prevented this, so that I was constantly washed up and down and almost gave up as my strength dwindled. The guides who stayed on board just watched.
Why do the guides on the boat do nothing and wait until you almost give up without strength?
The small dinghy was not used once for such dives.
It was also not explained at all that a woman disappeared on a shark dive in November 2023 and could not be found. I was also often in situations where something could have happened.
For some unknown reason, about four weeks after my trip, the boat is suddenly no longer bookable and I wonder why I should still rate it?
I can only recommend it "very conditionally"!!!
