As a regular guest at the Grand Hotel for many years, I would like to leave a review as I unfortunately did not enjoy my last stay at the Grand Hotel. As an active diver, I have always enjoyed the Grand Hotel with its short, easy routes to the dive center. Unfortunately, there seems to be an instruction from the management not to allow divers to use these short routes to the diving center. Unfortunately, the management is not willing to compromise and responded with a constant monologue instead of seeking dialog. As a guest, I had almost no opportunity to address my concerns to the management in a reasonable manner. I have never experienced anything like this in any hotel in the world where I have been a guest. The manager seems to me to be very aloof and inaccessible.
Unfortunately, the Grand Hotel in general is now very run-down and even my room in the new building shows clear signs of wear and tear, especially in the bathroom. This ranges from defective fittings and yellowed joints to the dirty bathtub. Cleaning under the bed is also a foreign concept. Dust and cobwebs lay thick in the corners.
We don't even need to talk about soiled carpets in the corridors and flaking plaster. Unfortunately, this has become standard there and you no longer feel comfortable there.
As mentioned, I have been a regular guest at the Grand Hotel for 10 stays so far and as a diver I have always been able to overlook the deteriorating condition of the hotel every year. The overall package was just right. But that is no longer the case. The management's resistance to advice and the aforementioned run-down condition of the hotel ruin the overall package. I don't know whether I will be a guest there again. Not at the moment.
