My diving trip to Fuvahmulah (diving with tiger sharks) from October 27, 2025, to November 2, 2025 I'd rather not say anything about CONDOR's "service" . . .
After arriving in Male, we had plenty of time, as the departure time to Fuvahmulah had been postponed several times. After landing, a young man quickly approached me with a picture of me and said he was from the ZeroDegrees hotel.
He was driving a Jaguar limousine, but after four minutes it broke down with engine trouble. So he set off on foot, stopped a scooter driver who gave him a ride, and 20 minutes later he came back with a Toyota, which then took us to the hotel.
We finally arrived at around 8 p.m. We were given fruit juice to drink, but there was nothing to eat. At my request, we were then brought a pizza, which we had to pay for. We had to carry our suitcases up to the third floor ourselves via a narrow staircase. The room was good and practically furnished.
The breakfast was forgettable. However, the dinner was excellent (tuna with rice). On the third day, there was a three-hour blackout on the island. No electricity and no water.
Room service was only provided on two days. There was never anyone at the reception desk! Apart from us, there were only two other guests in the entire hotel! On the third day of our stay, the hotel owner opened a fast food restaurant with the same name at the harbor.
The food was good, as was the service. It's quite possible that he will close the hotel. The next three days were spent diving with PADI. The base is excellently organized and the crew is very helpful and competent. My diving equipment was immediately unpacked and stowed in boxes to be taken on board.
Jonathan, an Italian, stood out and took excellent care of me. Three dives were offered, and the guides were very professional. Unfortunately, we didn't see any thresher sharks or hammerhead sharks. However, the daily dive in the "tiger zoo" was an unforgettable experience for me.
After pieces of tuna were dropped from the boat and "hidden" at the bottom with stones by the guides, the animals swarmed the area for a full 30 minutes, swimming past us just centimeters away. There were seven sharks in total, five of which were female and only two male.
The guides were very attentive and watched all the sharks coming from behind and guided them away. No one performed any tricks with the animals. On the way back to the boat, we were "accompanied" by these two male animals at a distance of three meters.
The crew was very helpful in climbing up the ladder. My fins were unstrapped beforehand. The equipment was rinsed by the crew and could remain on board. After the last dive, everything was rinsed again, dried, and returned to the hotel. The dives with the PADI team were perfect.
The return flight to Male was okay. From Male to Frankfurt, we had separate seats on CONDOR, even though we had booked together. The succinct reason: "Unfortunately, the plane is fully booked" (Never again Condor!!!)
