Unfortunately, the Wyndham Garden next to the dive center did not meet our expectations and contrasted with the great dive center.
The first room was damp, in the second room you couldn't leave the balcony door open as it was extremely windy through the closed room door. The staff kept opening the vestibule doors in the corridors. The paths are broken, there are many loose cables and stones, the rooms are reasonably clean. The bed was very comfortable.
The food is ok, but boring. Every day the same frozen fish and chicken and pasta dishes in different sauces. The salad bar and desserts are more varied. Unfortunately there is hardly any regional food. We repeatedly had spills in the water from the water dispenser at breakfast. This was changed after 3 days with complaints. The juice still came from the old dispensers... The chairs inside are worn out, the tables outside are unsightly and getting on in years. A sad keyboard player plays (or practices?) listlessly for dinner. Coffee and drinks in the piano bar are not included in the AI+. We ate out several times - here you can get good food for around €10-15 per person. In Ramadan, alcohol is only available in the room, so AI+ is not really worthwhile.
The staff are extremely friendly and take good care of the guests. When we complained about the damp room, we were upgraded to a better room without any discussion.
Further renovations are probably planned at the Wyndham. The chalets have all been renovated and look very good.
As divers, we were hardly ever in the hotel. We were only able to use the pool on the last day as it was only open from 8am to 6pm and we were diving in the morning and on excursions in the afternoon.
On request, the hotel recommended a local car rental company, but it was disproportionately expensive. Better to rent directly at the airport in Salalah.

The great diving made up for the less than ideal accommodation. The surrounding area is worth seeing and Oman is easy to explore on your own.
