Dear Sir or Madam,
As mentioned above, the rooms were very simply furnished, but absolutely spotless and cleaned every day. The service in the restaurant was very friendly, but mostly inattentive—used dishes such as plates, etc., were cleared away late or, in some cases, by the guests themselves beforehand.
The service at the Café am Wasserv, on the other hand, was excellent and incredibly friendly.
Unfortunately, the food was, in a word, disastrous. No variety whatsoever, everything overcooked to the extreme, and the quality of the ingredients was abysmal. No bread for breakfast, just poor-quality slices of toast that you could heat up on a sort of waffle iron. No coffee machine—instead, there was powder that you had to scoop into a cup and pour hot water over. The only milk available was UHT milk, which wasn’t refrigerated and was often out of stock.
A huge number of low-quality convenience products—horrible!
There was no muesli or oatmeal—the only fruit (every day) for breakfast was melon slices.
I could go on with this review, but there’s no need. There is a real and urgent need for a competent cook here.
The dive center was, in a word, excellent—spotlessly tidy, with extremely friendly and competent dive instructors, and everything was super clean here as well. Additionally, the organization was exemplary and always highly flexible.
We were taken to the dive sites by Zodiacs—which were in very good condition. Contrary to expectations, the dive sites/reefs were in good condition despite the bleaching. The selection of dive sites was also very good.
Unfortunately, the only place to use the internet was in the restaurant—and even then, not always.
Conclusion: I would love to come back—but I haven’t eaten this poorly since I stayed at a youth hostel 40 years ago. For that reason, I will recommend a different center to my diving friends.
Best regards,
Ralf Ernst
