After a somewhat longer journey, we arrived at Papua Explorers. What a welcome - the staff put on a little concert on the jetty.
We were given a brief overview by the resort manager, Shannon, and then taken to our family villa. In typical Papuan style, the little house stands on wooden stilts above the water. Everything is very well maintained and nothing was missing.
In the afternoon, Markus, the base manager, gave us a very detailed briefing on the diving operations and we started diving the next day.
There was a very detailed briefing before each dive and the journey to the dive sites took a maximum of 30 minutes. There are huge schools of fish, beautiful large coral gardens, unfortunately we didn't see a manta ray. We always spent our surface interval on a beach or a jetty. On a day trip we went diving in Melissa Garden, such vast coral fields and extensive schools of fish are probably rarely seen. Special thanks to our guide Apri, who looked after us so lovingly, and to our Captain Boys, who we were even able to elicit a smile from at the end. All in all, the dive sites are very varied and we really enjoyed them. Special thanks again to Markus for the wonderful selection.
The food was served as a buffet, was always varied and tasted very good.
We felt very comfortable and got to know very lovely people. We can recommend Papua Explorers without reservation.
