As we are both experienced divers with over 20 years of diving experience and over 1000 dives under our belts, we only needed accommodation, tanks, weights and space for our equipment.
We did all our vacation dives on the house reef, and every dive was different. You can have a good time here.
The trips were nothing for us, firstly we already knew the dive sites and secondly we didn't want to spend any extra money on them.
Unfortunately, we couldn't do any night dives as they were not allowed. If we had known this beforehand, we would have left the second lamps at home.
If you're traveling there, it's better to ask in advance to save unnecessary weight!
Eagle rays every day, turtles three times, giant moray eels twice, the usual suspects, all very nice.
The organization was unpleasant when divers from the affiliated sister base in Coraya Bay overran the Brayka base on Tuesdays.
Not a single tank left for the Brayka guests, a 45-minute wait for Nitrox, no room to get dressed, boxes all over the place, rucksacks left everywhere on the benches. Ok, some divers don't know how to behave as a guest, stow their things when they go into the water and leave space for others. Even if my camera and regulator are almost pushed off the bench because the speedboat is waiting and my neighbor is frantically getting dressed and can't find a bottle because they are all in use, I don't find that funny. There's a better way.
A proper basic briefing for guest divers would be desirable. I also don't like being pushed away at the sinks or having to scramble for my camera because consideration is written in small letters.
Suggestion: New brevet "How to behave at a diving center and at the sinks..." ???? Or simply ask the base staff to explain how to do it at check-in. Sometimes that's enough. They're all nice people with the same interests.
But we'll be back anyway ????
