My first really negative review of the Blue (it was my 7th safari on the Blue - all top so far).
Cabins: Unfortunately a lot of defects in the meantime (curtains/plissée only halfway usable because broken)
Food: Top as usual. Unfortunately, all the seats and benches are so soggy that you almost have your chin in the food.
Dive guides: Was ok, but more has been shown....
Safety: Unfortunately some serious shortcomings here. Mainly in the Zodiacs. Holding options not everywhere. A rope is missing in the middle section (which can't cost the earth). And the boarding ladders are also rather useless (short handrail and not continuous footrests -> other boats can do this, why not the Blue). Consequence: Dive buddy with a cracked rib, me with a dislocated elbow because there is no way to hold on).
Dive spots: I can't understand why the dive times can't even be agreed between the 3 Blueplanet boats present. There are 12 other boats at Deadalus doing the same dives at the same time. It would be easy to at least communicate with the sister ships.
In general: The Blue is still good, but the overall package is lacking - in many areas.
e.g. more restrained service compared to previous years, permanently occupied camera board (with tea, staff cell phones, private things of the crew). Unfortunately, after 7x Blue, I have now come to the conclusion not to go for the 8th time....
A word about Egypt: massive over-dive tourism at BDE. Apart from a bit of longi luck, we didn't have any big fish, but on some dives we had 25 divers 20 meters in front of us, just as many behind us and just as many next to us. And unfortunately dear Blue: what disappointed me the most was that you now form LARGE GROUPS (2 guides: 1x 11 divers in group 1 and 10 divers in group 2). Pack diving is already standard in Egypt anyway. Unfortunately, the group size doesn't make it any better
