Diving experiences in an intact coral world with an incredibly diverse array of fish!
The dive sites are easily and quickly accessible via the base’s 10 private high-speed dive boats. Two dives on the morning trips (with a surface break for coffee/tea/cake, water, and fruit), always with fresh towels; one dive in the afternoon; evening dives are also available (e.g., mandarin fish spots).
The dive guides are very friendly, speak English well, and prioritize safety; the briefing for each dive site is thorough, and the boat crew is helpful, attentive, and very friendly.
The dive center has a very spacious storage/drying room for equipment, and a shower is available. There is also plenty of rental equipment available if needed. You can dive with compressed air as well as with Nitrox.
Another new addition is a large, state-of-the-art photo/video room for your own use!
We definitely recommend the day trip to the “Fam Islands”—the area famous for the iconic Raja Ampat photos—the fantastic spot “Melissa’s Garden,” the hike up the hill for photo opportunities, and the other great dive sites in the surrounding area. Full-day excursions are charged at an additional fee per person. The island of Wai (about a 20-minute boat ride) is also very beautiful, featuring the wreck of the P-47 (WWII U.S. bomber) and the Wai-West dive site. “Wobbegong City” is also highly recommended—the name says it all.
All in all: top-notch diving spots with a very friendly, laid-back vibe.
