Coco's Island remains Coco's Island.
Wonderful diving trip experience.
It was my third trip to Coco's Island.
First in 2011 the second in 2018 and now in 2023.
Always almost the same period, September 2011, October 2018 and November 2023.
There is a lot of life underwater in Coco's Nature Reserve, but I have to realize that the hammerhead sharks are getting lower and lower, and that the famous hammerhead wall of shark can only be seen from relatively far away.
Either this is due to the El Niño effect, the water has also become much warmer, 28 degrees compared to 23-24 degrees in 2011, and the sharks are deeper in the cooler water, below 35m depth...or there are simply few sharks.
It remains a beautiful dive spot in my opinion, but I will wait until El Niño is over to book a trip to Coco's again.
