The base is very well managed from our point of view. The first briefing about the base with TV presentation was already very professional. Again, all staff were super nice and helpful. You actually only had to dive down yourself. The boats are very well equipped with all necessary and possible safety items (WC on board). The MA on the boat are all very relaxed. The guids really show everything that is possible and are almost marine biologists. It is written down on a board at the TG what you are seeing. Very impressive.
If you want, you can and should do a Blackwater TG. Dive on the open sea at night, with a personal guide, at a buoy with lighting. Very cool the whole thing, like Alien. Again, there is a detailed briefing beforehand at the base, which was very helpful.
A MUST is to dive the Turtle Place at Bunaken Island. We saw more turtles in one dive than in all of them together. From small to large, everything was there.
What made the diving sometimes a challenge were the current conditions, which were very challenging for us at one or the other place. But all in all it was very nice.
To recommend is actually dive packages to book, also still possible on site. This is so far the first base where we have not been charged the cheapest option at the end of the trip.
